Club Notes 6-12-2021
Minor Board AGM:
A very informative and engaging Red Hughs Minor Board AGM took place last Friday evening 3rd of December. Congratulations to Martin Doherty who was returned as the minor board chairman for the coming year. Thanks to our club secretary Kathy Kelly for compiling an excellent secretary’s report of all the underage activities which took place in the club in 2021. The Covid restrictions meant a very compacted year for all underage levels, and the completion of all fixtures would not have been possible without the tireless work of our coaches, parents/guardians and of course players. We hope to build on this progress next year and would always welcome any new coaches who wish to get involved.
Fixtures:
Good luck to the U-21 men’s team and their management who are due to play against Carndonagh in the semi-final of the U-21 C Championship this Sunday 12th December in Maurice McMenamin Memorial Park, Muff at 2pm.
Joe Gallen Charity match:
The Red Hughs club would like to congratulate the organizers of the recent Joe Gallen Charity match which took place recently in the Finn Valley centre, and which raised much needed funds for local charities both sides of the border. Special mention to club member Tommy McGlinchey who was part of the organizing committee, and to Keelan McGill of Supervalu for supplying the much-needed hand sanitizers.

The Thunder ball draw takes place each Sunday live @8:00pm on the club Facebook page, with 50% of the pot going to the winner and 50% to the club. The cost to enter is €5 for one entry or €10 for 3 entries. The draw can be entered online via PayPal or Revolut by 6pm on the day of the draw, or by leaving an envelope in Bradley’s shop, Topline McCreary’s or Browne’s Bar before 4pm on the day of the draw.
