County Players
Congratulations to Stephen McMenamin who played his part in a brilliant victory for Donegal on Sunday and he becomes the first Red Hughs player to win a Division 1 National League title. Well done also to Thomas Devine who is part of the backroom team.
Mark Wilkinson continues to impress for the county minors and he played the full game against Derry on Saturday in the Ulster Minor League.
Well done also to Aoife Kelly who played for the Donegal U14 girls in their matches against Down and Monaghan on Saturday. They are due to host Tyrone and Fermanagh next weekend.
All County Leagues
Well done to the players and management teams of our senior men, senior reserves and senior ladies who all commenced their respective league campaigns last weekend. At Páirc Aodh Rua on Saturday our seniors were held to a 1-11 to 0-14 draw following a late comeback from a strong Buncrana side. Our reserves were defeated 2-12 to 0-9 and this game was close late on but a couple of late scores from the visitors ensured their victory. In Buncrana on Sunday our senior ladies battled hard but were defeated in the end 2-8 to 0-5.
The senior men and reserves are away to Malin next Saturday 4th April – reserve at 4.45pm and senior at 6.15pm. Then on Easter Sunday morning 5th April the ladies play Carndonagh at home with throw-in at 10.30am. Best of luck to all our teams in these games.
Minor Board
Our U16 girls are due to play Cloughaneely at home next Tuesday 31st March at 6.45pm.
Well done to our U18 boys who had another good win away to Convoy last week. They now play Letterkenny Gaels at home on Wednesday evening at 6.30pm. Our U14 boys play Downings at home on Friday at 6.30pm and then St Eunan’s at home on Sunday at 6pm. Best wishes to all our underage teams in their upcoming fixtures.
